A Life Transformed by Grace

Muwanika Muhamedi, now the Church Chief of Staff at SET MINISTRY, has a testimony that stands as a powerful testament to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Born and raised in a Muslim family, Muhamedi's journey to Christ was marked by divine encounters, deep searching, and ultimately, a radical transformation that would change not only his life but also the lives of countless others he would go on to minister to.

Early Life in Islam

Growing up, Muhamedi was devoted to the teachings of Islam. He attended the mosque regularly, observed prayers five times a day, and fasted during Ramadan. Like many in his community, he was raised with a strong sense of religious identity and cultural belonging. Yet, deep within his heart, there was a yearning — a sense that something was missing, a void that his religious practices could not fill.

I was sincere in my faith, Muhamedi recalls. I prayed I fasted I gave charity. But I never had peace. I never had the assurance that my sins were forgiven. There was always a distance between me and God that I could not bridge.

The Encounter with the Gospel

It was during a season of personal crisis that Muhamedi first encountered the Gospel in a meaningful way. A Christian friend invited him to a church service, and reluctantly, he attended. That day, the message of God's love through Jesus Christ pierced his heart like never before.

The preacher spoke about a God who loved us so much that He gave His only Son to die for our sins. In Islam we strive to earn Gods favor through good works. But here was a message of free grace — that Jesus had already paid the price. That night, I couldnt sleep. I felt something stirring in my spirit.

The Turning Point

For months, Muhamedi wrestled with what he had heard. He read the Bible in secret, comparing its teachings with what he had known all his life. The more he read, the more he encountered the person of Jesus Christ — not just a prophet, but the Son of God, the Savior of the world.

One night, in a moment of desperate prayer, Muhamedi cried out to God. If You are real if Jesus is the way show me. That night, he had a vision of Jesus standing before him with open arms. In that moment, he surrendered his life to Christ.

I felt a weight lift off my shoulders. For the first time in my life I knew I was forgiven. I knew I was loved. I knew I was a child of God.

The Cost of Following Christ

Accepting Christ came at a great cost. Muhamedi faced persecution from his family and community. He was disowned by some relatives and faced threats from those who saw his conversion as a betrayal. But his faith in Christ only grew stronger.

They took away my family my community my identity. But they could not take away my salvation. I gained something far greater — eternal life and a new family in the body of Christ.

A New Beginning

Today, Muwanika Muhamedi stands as a bold witness for Christ. His testimony continues to inspire many who are searching for truth. From darkness to light, from Islam to Jesus — his story is a living proof that no one is beyond the reach of God's love.

As he now serves as Church Chief of Staff at SET MINISTRY, Muhamedi is dedicated to helping others find the same freedom and peace that he found in Jesus Christ.
